Applying to UC Cosmos 1/17/24

I have decided to apply to the San Diego campus of UC Cosmos to learn about Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. I have always had interests in the medical aspects of STEM so to be able to try and learn about this excites me. This program focuses on treating a variety of patients with health problems using stem cells and other forms of technology. When I had surgery for the second time, that was one of the ways of repairing the cartilage- by using stem cells. I find it kind of interesting how this is almost like a full circle moment tying back to two years ago.

I learned about stem cells last year in biology and how they are able to be guided into specific cells. I see how this can help people who may have damaged tissues in their body and are struggling to grow it back. With the help of stem cells, they will be able to regenerate the parts needed to return back to normal.

This program is something that really excites me and I would love to be able to dig deeper into this topic. Hopefully, I get accepted into this program but even if I don’t, I will still want to learn more about this technology.
