Traveling 6/18/23

Summer break began 3 weeks ago and so far, I have been very preoccupied traveling. The first two weeks were spent visiting Korea and Japan, my first time truly out of the states. The day after we got back, I traveled to Los Angeles for a basketball tournament and just got back today.

The differences in Asia and the U.S are drastic, from the way the city operates and how efficient it is. In Japan, the thing that surprised me the most was how clean the streets were. No matter where’d you go, you would see hardly any trash on the ground. The crazy thing about it is there are rarely any trash cans in public. The differences in cleanliness from Japan to the U.S is incomparable and the fact that there is no trash cans and yet still cleaner is very interesting.

Another difference is the culture and how everyone treats one another. In Japan and Korea, everyone seems so happy and enjoying of their job no matter what it is. The locals do their job with pride and take it very seriously.

I think it is important for the states to model after these countries so we can help take care of the environment and the overall happiness of the people. This was my first time visiting Asia and the experience was amazing, I learned lots of new things and this trip expanded my understanding of life outside a bubble.
